I am a Star Trek nut...please don't hold that against me. Spock is one of my favourites and when I came up with the idea I really wasn't sure how to go about it. Lorraine Carthew created Don Bradman and I was inspired by her creations. I called her out of the blue and in true quilting tradition she was more than happy to share some pointers. So now publicly I would like to thank Lorraine and share my creation with you all. Spock(the quilt is actually called Fascination) won an Australia wide art competion in not only the textiles division but in the people's choice section as well. So if you were one of the many that voted for me let me know and I owe you a drink when we meet. Better still join me in a class and it's yours for free.....I loved putting him together and have had him valued at over $5000. When I finished him I was offered $3000 to hang in a lawyers firm in Melbourne but I couldn't bear to part with him. Of course now owning a boat I may have to re-evaluate my priorities. Click on the Eagle Star page and give me your opinion. Remembering that once the boat is on the Barrier Reef I will be running my classes from her and of course a few thousand of my friends will be invited.
He took 4 months to create and is made up of all different animals, planes, boats and all manner of things. His eye is a leopard, duck and fish His eyebrow is a butterfly.
